PEDRALI & EUGENI QUITLLET AT IMM 2019

Pedrali, the Italian leading company known for its versatile design capabilities, could not be absent from the latest Internationale Möbelmesse (IMM) that took place in Cologne last week, 14th to 20th January 2019. The Milanese studio Calvi Brambilla designed the exhibition stand in absolute detail and continuation of the eccentric brand.
The setting of the exhibited new collections, described being “between stylistic research of design and materials”, is conceptualized as a stage surrounded by lightbulbs, drawing inspiration from theatre to communicate in the most genuine way their “latest good ideas”.

If we were to select only one piece from the new collection, that definitely would be the Soul armchair, a Eugeni Quitllet design that merges past and future, traditional and modern, wood and polycarbonate to present an original piece of pure creativity. Soul’s minimalistic form can be attributed to its uninterrupted structure, “a harmonious interplay of curves and subtle line”, resulting to an ergonomic comfy seating that can stand on the demanding modern era we live in.

We couldn’t expect less than innovation and inspiration from the latest work of Eugeni Quitllet who has proved  his out-of-the-box perception through his past collaborative projects with  Kartell, Foscarini and Vondom to name a few. The recognized designer from Catalonia describes himself as a ‘Disoñador,’ a Spanish contraction of designer and dreamer, a trait that can be seen in the Soul armchair.
